Dear Dr. Langston, As I've said, the Autoconfed version of ROOT worked very well when installed in Mandrake Linux 5.3 (most probably also on Red Hat Linux 5.2). So I also tried installing ROOT in Red Hat Linux 6.0. When I do "make" this message comes out: In file included from ../include/mmalloc.h:10, from ../include/mmprivate.h:31, from BASE_MapFile.cxx:145: ../include/mmconfig.h:22: warning: `HAVE_UNISTD_H' redefined ../config.h:154: warning: this is the location of the previous definition ../include/mmconfig.h:25: warning: `HAVE_LIMITS_H' redefined ../config.h:139: warning: this is the location of the previous definition ../include/mmconfig.h:26: warning: `HAVE_MMAP' redefined ../config.h:38: warning: this is the location of the previous definition BASE_MapFile.cxx: In method `void TMapFile::CreateSemaphore(int = 0)': BASE_MapFile.cxx:806: aggregate `union semun set' has incomplete type and cannot be initialized BASE_MapFile.cxx:808: confused by earlier errors, bailing out make[2]: *** [BASE_MapFile.lo] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/allister/root-2.21.08.04/lib' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/allister/root-2.21.08.04' make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 I could no longer proceed to do "make check" and "make install". Hope you could help me with this. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Allister Levi C.
