Hi Greg, the mapfile is cached by nfs and it seems it does not get updated after the first access. I don't know directly how to force flushing of the nfs cache (any tips are welcome). However, it would probably be more efficient to use a client/server aproach to get your histgrams (see the $ROOTYS/tutorials/hserv.C and hclient.C). Cheers, Fons.
