This problem was solved in 2.22/10.
I take this opportunity to mention that in the (coming soon) version
2.23
we have made additional optimisations. TPaveLabel, TPaveText and
histogram axis
and titles support now full Latex expressions.

The marker types 1-5 are "hardware markers of X11" non-scalable. They
scale
on Postscript only. All the other markers (in particular the range
20>31)
scale both on the screen and postscript.
