Hi Root'ers, 1) ROOT and DBMs: Great idea of providing a ROOT interface to DBMs - thanks! However, the file "ftp://pcroot.cern.ch/root/MySQL.tar.gz", doesn't seem to be present, although mentioned in the release notes. I would really like to try out the ROOT interface to the MySQL DBM, (as I'm working a strategy on DBs for the BRAHMS experiment at RHIC) so couldn't you (the ROOT team) make that file avaliable, or perhaps give directions as how to use an existing MySQL API library. 2) ROOT License, redistributing etc. Since you (the ROOT team) has kindly adopted my idea of static directories, I've have been toying with the idea of creating a ROOT package for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. However, I need to know if this is alright with you. As far as I can tell from the license in "AA_LICENSE", it's alright, but I thought I should ask you first though, as it would involve uploading a compiled version of ROOT to www.debian.org for others to download. If any one knows how to make packages for RedHat Linux, Slackware Linux, SuSE Linux, OpenLinux, or even other OS', I would like to encourage you to undertake a similar venture. Let's make ROOT a household name! Keep your ROOTs, and don't go mad!
