Freddy,

If you just want to do simple cuts or weights, there is
a box at the bottom of the TreeViewer called 'Weight-Selection'.
You can modify this box with a right mouse button and do a
'SetLabel'. You then put in whatever condition you like, just
like in the Draw method, e.g. (pt_top>10). It is called a
'Weight-Selection' because selections are just boolean
weights. You could also set 'pt_top' and entries would
be weighted by that variable.
