Hi Ed,

Look at the file bind_gexam1 in geant3/TGeant3 directory. You will see 
this:

g++ -o gexam1 gmain.C gexam1.o -I$ROOTSYS/include -I. `root-config 
--glibs` \
-lVMC -lPhysics -lEG -lEGPythia6 -lGeom /user/brun/pythia6/libPythia6.so 
\
-L/user/brun/geant3/lib/tgt_Linux/ -lgeant321 -L$CERNLIB -lpacklib -lg2c

Looking at your log, it looks like you have not defined the symbol 
CERNLIB
