  It's just removing a few lines in the code;   the question was rather what is preferable.

  VGM does not convert visualisation attributes.   I agree with you that it would be useful to pass this   setting between the geometry models.
  I will add this implementation, but it may take some   time. Till then you will have to set the visualization   attributes via G4 commands (or G4 VMC commands).   How to do this is demonstrated in the g4vis.in macros   in the E02 and E03 examples.
