in some sense it is also very dangerous. Let me give you a very simple example. Some MC have a hadronic semi-elastic cross section. In this case the inelastic cross section does not contain this contribution. Others have only elastic and inelastic. The point is not how much is the cross section, but what do you do with it! In this sense I would not be so much in favour of offering a generic tool. It is perhaps more reasonable for electromagnetic and dE/dx. Best,
