Hi Rooters, I really don't think that there is even a question about 'how' the user manual to be written, as far as format is concerned. There is no even a choice here: LaTeX document is the only available option. Given sufficient motivation *.tex source can be converted in whatever format conceivable. I'd love just to have possiblity to download User Manual from root site in PS format, print it and don't wish anything else. Having hardcopy handy plus already existing root's reference guide should be sufficient. pdf!
