Yes, you can run ROOT 2.25 on WinNT without cygwin layer. Cygwin is only needed for the compilation of the system (for the makefile and shell scripts used). The %ROOTSYS%\test\Makefile.win32 file shows the needed compile options and this makefile runs with nmake in a pure Win environment. Cheers, Fons.
