the only items you really need are: TTF and XPM.

The easiest way is to define "export TTF=...." in your
profile or login file. XPM will be correctly discovered on Linux systems
(and most other systems). OpenGL, RFIO, CERNLIB, MYSQL, etc. are just options
to worry about when you need them.
