Hi, I am new to ROOT and just installed it on my Win2K box. After setting up the environment variables, the demos run pretty much OK, but when I start a browser window, it has no menu or toolbar. It doesn't look much like the examples I've seen on the web (the examples look like they're running on Windows, but maybe they aren't). Have I overlooked something in the setup? Is it a Windows thing? I also notice that all types of files have identical icons, and double-clicking on any file, even a root file, opens it in Notepad. It appears that the variables Gui.MimeTypeFile and Gui.IconPath are pointed to the correct place (they weren't at first but now are). Similarly, changes to Browser.IconStyle do not seem to affect the appearance in the browser window, even though gEnv->Print() shows that they have been read in. Thanks for any help, I've spent several hours and I can't get seem to solve this without more information. Dave dcasper@uci.edu
