  The Browser under Windows does provide no "menu". One can use this 
  with no menu just by clicking on the items.

Very likely you saw on the Web the example from the UNIX screens because
ROOT provides the set of classes to imitate windows 95 look and feel under UNIX,

The windows created with TCanvas object does come with menu.

  This feature is not provided under Windows yet. The "Gui" parameters make 
  no sense under Windows.
