Hello rooters of the world. I have a problem when running ROOT which may not be connected to ROOT itself. It may be outside the scope of this list, but some of you may have faced the same problem and I therefore post this message. I'm currently running ROOT 2.25/03 with RH 6.1 (Intel PC). The problem I face from time to time is that the arrow keys stop working the way they should. I.e. I am not able to get back to the previous commands at the ROOT prompt using the arrow keys. The outputs I get when pressing the arrow keys are simply the following capital letters: up-arrow: A down-arrow: B right-arrow: C left-arrow: D When I exit my ROOT session and go back to the shell prompt the up and down arrow keys work as they should. Also, when I inspect my .root_hist, the commands from my ROOT session are there. So the commands are "recorded" but cannot be recalled in the interactive session. Does this seem familiar to anybody? Is this a configuration problem? Regards Jens Ivar --- Jens Ivar Jřrdre, Dep. of Phys., Allégt. 55, N-5007 BERGEN, NORWAY e-mail: JensIvar.Jordre@fi.uib.no, phone (temp.): (+47) 55 58 27 92
