[ROOT] Copy Tree with TChain

I do have evidence that CopyTree doesn't work with TTree, I think.  I get
tons of errors

Warning in <TChain::TChain::Fill()>: may not use this method

when I try to use the CopyTree method with a TChain.  Since I want to do
more than draw a histogram after my selection, I need this functionality.
I want to save my new "reduced" tree to a file!

Any suggestions, or am I doing something in error?
