Hi rooters, we published the Go4ThreadManager package developed by Joern Adamczewski, GSI, and Marc Hemberger (since Oct. 2000 realTech). It provides classes to manage ROOT threads. Especially it provides: 1. Thread control (concept of runnables) 2. Locking mechanisms 3. Exception handling 4. Recommended: ROOT >2.25 on Linux Some remarks: The thread manager is heavily used inside Go4 and runs stable (Linux Debian 2.2 R3). At GSI the development of Go4 is concentrated on Linux. Currently it is not envisioned to implement Go4 on other platforms. Our Website (http:\\go4.gsi.de) has been updated by a list of packages and their status and availability (ftp download from there). Currently GSI follows the GPL license model. If the future ROOT license model comes up, GSI may follow this one.
