Hi Valeri, We are using the Qt free edition only! and we have a very good experience with it. In fact we started with Qt v2.3 (Free Edition), then we start using the beta of versions of Qt 3.0. (1 to 6) Qt 3.0 is very attractive for several reasons: 1. It is possible to edit the slots inside or outside the designer. The fact that you can add your own methods (slots) to the Widget (MyWidget.ui.h) as cpp methods directly make it more powerful than the old technique in Qt v2.3, where you have to subclass from the Widget in order to add your own functionality (which is also supported in Qt 3.0). 2. The Qt 3.0 Designer is a powerful tool, with a powerful text editor, you can see the features your self on: http://doc.trolltech.com/3.0/designer-manual.html 3. I found the qmake utility is a much powerful and easy to use tool compared to the tmake utility in Qt 2.3 4. Creating projects within the designer make it easier to maintain your software, in other words, the effort needed to take care of few lines of code in the project file is not comparable to that of maintaining Makefiles! regards Mohammad ########################################################## Dr. Mohammad Al-Turany Experiment Data Processing (DV & EE) Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung (GSI) Planckstr. 1 D-64291 Darmstadt, Germany Tel: +49-6159-71-2554 Fax: +49-6159-71-2986 http://www-linux.gsi.de/~turany ########################################################## Valeri wrote: > Hi rooters, > as promised before we published now the QtROOT interface > developed by Denis Bertini, GSI. I ahve very simple question: What Qt edition are you using yourself: commercial or free one ? My guess you yourself bought Qt and use the commercial version. Have you any experience with Qt Free Edition v.3.0 (for Linux) ?
