Hi Bertrand and others,

thanks for the reply. I did not and I do not see any other message on
roottalk about socket select.

Looking into the problem is very kind of you but that's not the whole
issue. May I hear from rootdev team, i.e. from Rene and Fons:

- is root "oficially" supported on windows
- who is "oficially" responsible, i.e. who is getting salary or given
paied (part)time by a collaboration/institution to provide such support

I really enjoy nice root support provided by Rene and Fons. Moreover I
learnt a great deal of communicating with my own users on
www.smartquant.com looking at roottalk. But all these troubles with root
on windows is quite disappointing. I do understand that "technically" it
is not Rene or Fons' fault - they are not win experts... but, perhaps,
there is something to think about from "political" point of view.

We are not talking now about luxury stuff like Qt graphics on win, but
we are talking about basic system functionalities, which form
fundamental background of the whole framework. I think this is
important. Please tell me if I am wrong.

Cheers,
Anton
