Hi Gary,  I had the same problem using the December 2001 MACOSX
Developer Tools.  Keisuke Fujii, who built the official ROOT 2.02/06
binaries, recommended I install the gcc-with-g77 from his Web site,
referred-to on the ROOT download page.  When I installed this (by
RPM) on top of the MACOSX Developer Tools, the problem went away.
It would be better if MACOSX Developer could just work out of the
box.  George
