Hi   Rene,

There are TWO major corrections to be done:

  1. RConfig.h should define 
#     define R__ANSISTREAM    /* ANSI C++ Standard Library conformant */
for all Vc<x> compilers.

AND

   2. test/Makefile.win32 must use

LIBS          = $(ROOTLIBS) $(guilibsdll) MSVCPRT.LIB
 Instead of 
LIBS          = $(ROOTLIBS) $(guilibsdll) MSVCIRT.LIB


THEN VC6 compiled and Vc7 compiled libraries will be compatible.
