Following your suggestion, I edited etc/system.rootrc
and copied it to ~/.rootrc and
I got some improvement.
Before, test/stress kicks me out before Test 5 with those
two error messages that I mentioned in the first email.

Now, stress can go through all the tests and the stress Canvas
and plots are generated (no memu though).
However, there is still one BadAccess message shown below.

Error in <RootX11ErrorHandler>: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource
denied) (XID: 0, XREQ: 88)
  (many of this error messages.)
Test 5 : Test graphics & Postscript............................ OK

 ...

Error in <RootX11ErrorHandler>: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource
denied) (XID: 0, XREQ: 88)
  (many of this error messages.)
Test 16 : CINT test (3 nested loops) with LHCb trigger.......... OK

--------------------------
For the case of Tetris, I got no improvement.

Any other parameters that I need to change ???
thanks,
HP
