Hi Olivier, yes you are right, I just checked it and found out, that I can get perfectly results if I display or print the postscript file from the same machine on which it was created. But if I transfer the file to a different machine (maybe with a different code table) already displaying it with ghostview doesn't show the \\circ symbol anymore. This happens (as I saw until now) only for this particular symbol... Cheers, Thomas.
