Hello Lesley,

Could you elaborate a little bit what your problem is.

I did not get the connection between your local Windows machine, remote
BNL account, ROOT and simulation of the Linux system (What kind of
software do you mean speaking "simulation" VMWARE, Cygwin or something
else)

Can you say what do you WANT to do. Do not explain what did do.

Usually to invoke some shell command from the ROOT prompt one has to
type ".!" - "dot" and "exclamation mark"
