If you have access to AFS system then you can try it right now as that Web page describe ( http://root.bnl.gov ) One can add the Qt-layer to any ROOT version. (see: http://root.bnl.gov/QtRoot/How2Install4Unix.html ) However for ROOT 3.05.06 and below one had to patch the original ROOT code. Since ROOT 3.05.07 no ROOT patch is required. Please try and let me know. You may want to try some simple example of the stand-alone Qt-based ROOT application http://root.bnl.gov/QtRoot/How2Install4Unix.html#simplest also. I would like to call your attention no QApplication and QApplication::exec should be called by your code directly. Qt-edition of ROOT takes care to initialize the Qt system properly for you.
