Hello Stefan and Galina,

Let me answer some your "legal" questions:

I am sorry; I'll try to make it less confusing.
Can you provide me your "edition" :-)

There is no license problem for any X11 platform.
One should care about the developer license for Win32 edition only.
This is what I tried to explain:
http://root.bnl.gov/QtRoot/QtRoot.html#free

All version of Qt is free for X11 platforms.
See: http://www.trolltech.com/download/qt/x11.html

This means one can use (and I do use) Qt on Solaris with no problem
to create the free software.

Yes, it is included.
The version http://www.trolltech.com/download/qt/x11.html is the FULL
Qt- version. It contains almost everything the commercial version has.
The difference is the license only.

You can install X11 version on Solaris
http://www.trolltech.com/download/qt/x11.html

I'd like to call your attention the compilation of the Qt share
libraries takes some significant time.

I've posted it. So far I found no special problem for Solaris.
I'll add the ADS address of the Solaris version of Qt-edition of ROOT
later.

> 5. Is there someone who is working with QtRoot on Solaris 2.6 ?

Yes,
The Solaris is the official platform of STAR experiment. Qt-version is
the official ROOT version. We do build Qt and Qt-edition of ROOT for
Solaris.
Please try. Please don't hesitate to forward me any (tiny) problem you
may have faced. Don't waste your time, don't fight it alone.
