Error Bars

Hello,

My lab group is trying to calculate asymmetric error bars for our Cosmic Ray experiment (the data analysis is becoming more complex than obtaining the data). We need to calculate asymmetric error bars for our efficiency calculations, but we could not find a ROOT macro for this. Our professor wishes for us to use the result of Dr. Marc Paterno's May 2003 paper on Error Analysis to calculate the error. Unfortunately the "macros" are a series of .hpp and .cpp files that do not run in either a Windows/Linux command terminal or either corresponding version of ROOT. We have had slightly more success by downloading a series of GSL library routines for the terminal, however it still does not run properly and our professor has made it clear we are to use ROOT. While we have figured out how to plot the assym. error bars, are there any ROOT macros available to actually calculate them?
