Unable to Install ROOT on ubuntu

Hello,

I get the following compilation error when I install ROOT on Ubuntu 7.10 'Gusty Gibbon':

Configuring for linux
Checking for libX11 ... no
configure: libX11 (package libX11-devel) MUST be installed

I realize that libX11 is a fedora core package. Do I need to install first on Ubuntu before install ROOT
