Problem compiling root v5-21-01-alice on ubuntu 8.04 on amd64 pc

Dear all,

I tried to compile root v5-21-01-alice on Ubuntu 8.04 on an amd64 pc and I obtaine this message:

cint/tool/makecint.o: In function
`__static_initialization_and_destruction_0(int, int)':
makecint.cxx:(.text+0x40a): undefined reference to
`TVersionCheck::TVersionCheck(int)'

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [bin/makecint] Error 1

Can someone help me? I really don't know what I have to do...
