Hi,

it would probably be good if you could help users find ROOT on AFS, too. Also, the environment variables can be set automatically. So I would suggest to *replace* the whole FAQ entry by:

ROOT is accessible from AFS on all CERN central Unix systems. See http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/downloading-root for the available versions and how to set them up. The recommended version for SLC5 is an optimized build for x86_64 (i.e. 64bit) with GCC 4.3.
