Hi,

It also looks like the page http://root.cern.ch/root/AFS.html is giving to obsolete information. It is part of the old ROOT web site and in principle none of the IT faqs should any pages of this old site.

May be on our side we should somehow make clear that is an old page by pointing automatically to the new corresponding page. Fons what do you think ?

Cheers, Olivier

Hi,

it would probably be good if you could help users find ROOT on AFS, too.

Also, the environment variables can be set automatically. So I would suggest to *replace* the whole FAQ entry by:

ROOT is accessible from AFS on all CERN central Unix systems. See http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/downloading-root for the available versions and how to set them up. The recommended version for SLC5 is an optimized build for x86_64 (i.e. 64bit) with GCC 4.3.

Please remove all the other links as they are outdated and we cannot guarantee to keep them.

Cheers, Axel.
