compile root with new ruby versions

Hi all,

has someone already tried to build root with ruby version 1.8.7 or even 1.9.1?

How would I configure the make process of root properly if I have multiple libruby.so versions in the same directory? As far as I can see it is only possible to set a specific libdir (--width-ruby-libdir), but not a specific file.
