Hi,

I think at some stage Chirp was supported a support io protocol, but this seems to have lapsed.

Using version 5.26 from
/afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/app/releases/ROOT/5.26.00/x86_64-slc5-gcc34-opt/root/bin/root and
root [0] TFile *f =
TFile::Open("chirp://voatlas92.cern.ch/RodWalker/AOD/AOD.067184.big.pool.root"); Error in <TUnixSystem::DynamicPathName>: Chirp[.so | .sl | .dl | .a | .dll] does not exist in ......

Can this be resurrected with a recent version of the cctools? Chirp supports the vector read, for TTreeCache optimization, but does the root implementation make use of it?

Cheers,
Rod.

Ps. Latest code at http://www.cse.nd.edu/~ccl/software/chirp/
