Embedding TCanvas in a gtk application

Hi,

Following the documentation at
http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/how-embed-tcanvas-external-applications I have successfully embedded a TCanvas (containing a TH1) in a simple demo application. Some aspects of interaction with the histogram work. But, if you right-click, the menu appears, but options can't be selected from it. Also, it's then impossible to dismiss. I assume this is a focus problem, probably because I'm not passing along a required event. Any ideas as to what I need to do to fix this? Also, are there any other events that I need to forward? Keyboard events maybe?

I attach my demo application. I'm running on Ubuntu Linux, where the necessary gtk package is called "libgtkmm-2.4-dev".
