Hi Rene and Fons,

Would you mind tagging and branching the ROOT CVS Repository please?
Assuming that the latest revisions on the main trunk correspond to ROOT
2.23.04, then something like the following would do.:

  $ cvs co root
  $ cvs tag Release_2_23_04
  $ cvs rtag -b -r Release_2_23_04 Release_2_23_04-branch root

Without these tags and branches, we (your anonymous CVS users) will only
be able to update to the latest sources. It is much more likely (and in
practice, much more common and useful) for your users to want to update
to the latest sources for a particular release (e.g. because you have
fixed bugs for us that pertain only to that release).

CVS tags and branches are cheap, safe and unobtrusive changes to a CVS
repository. I hope you'll consider making them for us. Thank you :-)
